It was that time of year again: The Hitabis team gathered for Skill Days 2025 – three days filled with knowledge sharing, workshops, and shared experiences.

Skill-Days is our internal professional development program and a Hitabis tradition. Anyone can present their own topics – whether it’s specialized technical knowledge, project experiences, or inspiring new ideas. It’s not about academic lectures, but about sharing knowledge, discovering new perspectives, and learning from one another.

At the end of May, we were guests at the Hotel Fährhaus in Woltersdorf, idyllically situated right on the water. As always, the topics covered a wide range of subjects from Japanese web design aesthetics to Scrum in personal projects and the migration of Java projects. To round out the event, we invited a guest speaker. Denis walked us through the EU’s AI Act once again and shared insights from his experience with AI in the project business.

In addition to the technical aspects, we place great importance on shared experiences. For us, the Skill Days are also a chance to take a break, get to know each other better, have fun together, and strengthen our team spirit.

A real highlight was our self-guided boat trip: We set off from Lake Flaken into a quiet, secluded canal, where we enjoyed a barbecue on board in a relaxed atmosphere.

Even before breakfast, a motivated running group met at the hotel to run the idyllic 8.5-kilometer loop around Kiessee together. The morning jog was also great training for our next big event – the 5 x 5 km TEAM relay race organized by Berliner Wasserbetriebe.
